The holidays are here and once again, they arrive quicker than we expected. I am a strict follower of celebrating Christmas after Thanksgiving, but I respect and envy those who complete their shopping early! Maybe my gift guide will help 😉
It is also a season of not just giving to your family and friends but to a great cause or a nonprofit – so why not do both? When purchasing products like these, I firmly believe in sustainability because it is more than just providing a meal (which is great)! but also about CREATING opportunity for a lasting solution.
Above is a look at a few gift ideas for this holiday from my favorite organizations who share in this belief.
Live Fashionable – 1, 4, 9, 10 & 13!
They fully understand the importance of more than just a “band-aid” fix. “It is widely known that if we end extreme poverty, two things happen. One, we must create jobs for those lacking opportunity, and two, we must do so for women. This is the gap that FASHIONABLE wants to fill.” Read more about their commitment to this here.
Their leather products are great quality (hence the tote I use EVERYDAY), in style, and have BEAUTIFUL hues (not just the color pictured)! I listed many of their products, so take a look at numbers listed above.
31 Bits – 5 and 11!
All thing beaded, gold and jewelry! Their prizes range so you can go buy something more expensive or a smaller item like ones I have listed. They also recently started a new line (from Bali!) and I added a ring from this collection – but check them all, they are gorgeous! 31 Bits creates opportunities for artisans to sell their products and provides them with safe working conditions and an environment “where every artisan feels known.” Anyone else find joy in that?
For amazing gift ideas for someone (or yourself) check out their website here.
The Tote Project – 2 & 14!
Totes and small bags/pouches are such a great gift (or use it as the gift bag is always a cute idea) because who doesn’t need more ways to carry their stuff? Their fair trade products are sewn by women “who have made the choice to journey out of the sex trade and into freedom.” Twenty percent of their profits are given to help survivors of human trafficking in the United States.
The organization is all about celebrating freedom! Every tote says something different – “free to roam”, “free to explore”, “free to ride” and many others! Check out the other totes and pouches on their website.
Akola Project – 10!
This organization, similar to Live Fashionable provides vocational training, educates and employs women to create the beautiful jewelry on their website. Their larger beaded necklaces are over $30, but they are amazing – seriously check their work out! I included a pair of their earrings in my guide (all earrings on the site are $30 or under)!
The Little Market – 3, 6, 7, 8 & 12!
The Little Market is an online fair trade shop with a similar mission to some of the organizations I mentioned above! If you love Lauren Conrad or Hannah Skvarla, they founded this non profit – and I love it! Their website has TONS of affordable and adorable gifts for this holiday.
So there you have it! A few great gifts that are affordable AND your money will be going to people who want to make this world a better place! I hope it introduces you more to these organizations as well as their other beautiful products.
Happy Giving!
Love always,
