Rumor has it today is Valentine’s Day, but did you also know that today is Ferris Wheel Day?! I know, I know, it is really weird but when I was single, I started to celebrate it and I told myself no matter where my relationship status led me I would always stay true to celebrating George Washington Gale Ferris who invented the Ferris Wheel. I still can’t resist all the love that happens on a day like today, so if you combine love and Ferris Wheels I think it just makes for a GREAT celebration! I will just place some more info about Ferris Wheel day here, so I don’t bore you.
Even though it may be February 14th, Spring is truly beginning in San Diego, so velvet and flannels may be taking a back seat very soon. As I am in the process of purging my closet for my capsule wardrobe, I realize more and more how many clothes I don’t wear, yet I always say I have “nothing to wear.” How is that? It is time consuming and frustrating so I identified three reasons for this “I have nothing to wear” dilemma:
1 | I realized I need more go-to pieces that I LOVE and make for quick easy, outfits. Currently working on getting rid of items I no longer like, and buying a few great ones I know I will wear often.
2| Still trying to truly find my style. With trends, pinterest and social media I sometimes am all over the place when it comes to what I truly love to wear. I am hoping by creating a more “capsule” lifestyle it will show me what I love and what I simply no longer need. You may love a certain style for someone else, but realize it may not be for you. And that is A OKAY! Be you.
3| Weird seasons. Living in California we have all four seasons in one day; beautiful Fall in the morning, pleasant Spring mid afternoon, Summer at the height of the day and Winter at night. How does one possibly dress for that? Layers, layers and more layers. I am looking to buy more neutrals that I can layer and use all different ways.
Moving on to this incredibly simple outfit. A good pair of jeans, booties, plaid shirt, and one trendy piece make for a comfortable weekend outfit.
