The main pull for heading to the Orlando area was the many restaurants we had heard about. Spending an afternoon in Winter Park, FL was high on our list and is the perfect place to enjoy some slow travel. To be honest, I thought we would spend a lot more time here, but with our hotel situated in downtown, we loved exploring the city itself, as well.
A simple afternoon was spent in Winter Park, FL – and I would love to return in cooler seasons, with less humidity. Even so, there were so many darling spots in this quaint town. Here are a few moments we enjoyed if you hope for a simple afternoon.
Coffee or Breakfast at The General Store
The perfect spot to grab some brunch and coffee on the go or sit outside after perusing the store inside. Not too far from the main street, this was a wonderful way to start the day.
Winter Park Farmer’s Market
If you are there on a Saturday they have a great market from 8am – 1pm where you can grab some food, drinks, plants, flowers or just look around and support local.
Pop into Piante
Enjoy Lunch at Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine
There are a few restaurants on Park Av. but we opted for Turkish food, complete with a Turkish Wine Flight. Enjoy their menu offerings outside or within the spacious restaurant.
Explore The Heavy WP
This was mentioned by a few people as a must go-to when in Winter Park, FL. The shop had endless corners to explore and is also a wonderful place to photograph. Home decor, plants and unique homes for them all reside in this old seafood warehouse.
Foxtail Coffee
If you are starting your day at the Heavy, this is coffee spot is close by if you choose to grab something for yourself to explore the Orlando suburb. An afternoon pick me-up or a place to cool down as you enjoy their coffee options.
If you are looking for more coffee spots in Orlando, I have a post on Orlando Coffee Shops.
