Gift guide: Gifts that give back

This post may contain affiliate links, which means I earn a small commission (at no cost to you) if you click or purchase from them. Thanks for supporting cityandsee (and my coffee habit ).

Two years ago I put together a holiday gifts that give: under $30 to shed light on some awesome stores that are giving back in life changing ways. As I said in my first gift guide, “when purchasing products like these, I firmly believe in sustainability because it is more than just providing a meal (which is great) but also about CREATING opportunity for a lasting solution.” Many of these products will directly help women and men around the globe attend college, maintain a job to provide for their family and more.

Although I picked out a gift from each place, make sure to explore their websites and all the other amazing products they have. Many carry home, jewelry and a plethora of unique gifts.

Gift guide: Gifts that give back

1 / Causebox subscription

This is my birthday and Christmas gift from my husband so I can say FIRST hand how awesome this gift is. An annual box subscription that comes every season full of products that are empowering the world in the best way. The gift that really keeps on giving – to you and those they are impacting! You can purchase one box if you want to forego the annual subscription.

2/ ABLE Emnet mini pouch ($48)

You can’t go wrong with any of ABLE’s products. I own a Tote and passport wallet, both have been loved and used frequently. ABLE is a brand I have loved for awhile – their mission to empower women is one I can always get behind.

3/ Hands Producing Hope Hand made basket ($55)

To continue the world changing trend of supporting artisans around the world, these beautiful baskets (and other products) provide everyone (regardless of gender, race etc). the power to rise above poverty. “All of the baskets in the Nkombo Collection are either woven from grassy plant fibers found around the island or from recycled plastic harvested from empty rice bags.”

4/ The Tote Project – Sweater Weather Tote ($29.99)

When buying from The Tote Project, 10% of your proceeds are donated to Two Wings. This nonprofit “empowers survivors of sex trafficking to identify and pursue their dream vocation through mentoring programs, life skill classes and career training workshops, creating the path for a life of financial and physical independence.” As a whole, the company’s mission is to end slavery through donating to Two Wings, spreading awareness and manufacturing their bags ethically! I own a small tote and I have given one as a gift too! They have some beautiful, fun designs.

9/ The Shine Project Grey Pixie bracelet ($22)

I believe that education is one of our most powerful tools in life. Helping everyone have access to attend college is something I have a passion for and love organizations who feel the same. The Shine Project helps give scholarships to students that need help with the opportunity to go to college. I chose to buy these bracelets as part of bridesmaids gifts for my wedding, so I think they make great gifts! Simple, and a great cause. Read more of their story, because https://theshineproject.com/how-it-began-2/ it is incredible.
