A new city means new brewed cups of coffee and shop interiors to enjoy. Like many cities, Jacksonville is leaning into the change and growth that happens as young people move in and create new businesses. Neighborhoods such as Murray Hill, Riverside and Springfield are becoming gentrified and revived with new breweries, coffee houses and restaurants. Jacksonville coffee shops are plenty, and easily is making it’s way to a prominent coffee city (within Florida, and the country).
Hopefully this Jacksonville coffee shop guide helps you find the perfect spot to grab some coffee.
Guide to Jacksonville coffee shops
Southern Grounds & Co.
Atlantic Beach – Google Maps Location
San Marco – Google Maps Location
Avondale – Google Maps Location
Find Southern Grounds nestled in the cute downtown of Atlantic Beach as well as San Marco and the darling main street in Avondale. They have exciting events, new seasonal coffee creations, and even serve wine later in the day. Cafe in the morning followed by wine and a cheese board? Sign me up. P.S. Have a dog? Check out their “yappy hour” – dog treats, live music and superb drink deals.
Round Bird Coffee Shop
Round Bird supports local and small business by using Social Grounds coffee, Yum Cha Tea Company, muffins from the Ugly Cake Muffinry and other small baked good shops.
Sago Coffee
Large, beautiful space with plenty of areas to get work done. They have a small food menu and wonderful coffee and tea options. Their mission is to bring the beaches community together in an uplifting environment while serving amazing coffee.
Bold Bean Coffee
Riverside – Google Maps Location
Jax Beach – Google Maps Location
Many coffee shops and cafes use Bold Bean as their roaster. With locations in Riverside, at the beaches and San Marco – there coffee is a favorite of mine. Their mission is to “source, roast, brew and serve outstanding coffee.”
The Mini Bar
If you fear commitment when it comes to eating an ENTIRE donut of one flavor, the Mini Bar is for you! You can try numerous flavors of their mini donuts as well as fun flavored coffee drinks (including their weekly cereal lattes I am still hoping to get my hands on)! If you are headed to the beaches in Jax, make this a post or pre surf spot.
Pura Bean Coffee Company
A small batch artisan coffee roaster, they also serve Acai bowls and amazing open breakfast sandwiches (my favorite is the peanut butter, honey and bananas). A light breakfast with friendly baristas makes for a perfect start to explore the beaches of Jacksonville.
Good Dough
Predominantly known for their from scratch, homemade artisan donuts, they also serve Vagabond coffee to complete an unbeatable pair. Their menu changes monthly, each one as surprising and delicious as the next!
Setlan Coffee Co.
A new addition for Jacksonville coffee shops is this quaint little shop with outdoor seating. They have a small snack menu and their coffee is pretty incredible. The shop is tucked in front of train tracks, and is a pretty charming spot.
Brew Five Points
Numerous choices of anything brewed (coffee and beer), this shop can serve you some great breakfast tacos, lunch and assist in creating the exact flavor of coffee you like. When exploring the hip area of Five Points, this should be a stop on your list.
Bakery Ribault
Bakery Ribault serves much more than coffee but had to include it in this guide to Jacksonville coffee shops because their coffee is so GOOD! Not only will they make suggestions for you, but their breakfast and lunch options are delicious and satisfying (one of my favorite avocado breakfast meals I have had in Jacksonville)! If you are looking for authentic pastries and a wonderful cafe – go here! Bakery Ribault also happens to be in the heart of Five Points, an area that I highly suggest to explore.
Vagabond Coffee
Vagabond Coffee started as a small camper serving coffee to their Jax community and now has grown into their permanent set up in Murray Hill. Keeping in line with serving the city and striving for community they just announced they will be opening a downtown location! I can’t wait to see the look of their new space. Roasting specialty coffee with creative seasonal menus, this place is worth a stop.
Community Loaves
Organic and local bakery residing in the historic and adorable neighborhood of Murray Hill. Their specialty is sourdough bread but they also provide pastries, quiche and of course, coffee. Make sure to check out their awesome breakfast specials on the weekend as well.
The Flamingo
My favorite kind of business – coffee shop in the morning, wine and beer bar in the evening. Using a roaster in Oregon with that perfect trendy aesthetic – a great coffee spot.
If you are headed to Murray Hill, check out my Murray Hill Guide as well.
Social Grounds Coffee
Social Grounds Coffee is so much more than your neighborhood go-to spot. In the heart of up and coming Springfield, Social Grounds works to empower homeless veterans in the city of Jacksonville and is heavily involved in loving on their community. The baristas love to match exactly what you are craving, so chat and stay awhile while they brew up something great (like an espresso soda, pictured below).
1748 Bakehouse
Delicious baked goods with locally sourced ingredients alongside lunch, coffee, beer and wine! The space is adorable inside and you can enjoy the historic Springfield neighborhood after your cup of choice.
Brass Tacks Coffee Co.
Their large and spacious cafe resides in Southside but their roaster’s home is in Green Cove Springs. This place is perfect for setting up all day to study but also ideal for a quick coffee to go (using their drive thru)! Make sure to check out there seasonal menu like the Apple Pie Cortado on their Fall specials (pictured above)!
Twisted Compass Brewing Company
Another brewer of Bold Bean, Twisted Compass has plenty of space and an outdoor patio for the perfect coffee date. Stop in for their baked goods or a seasonal hazelnut latte with cinnamon (or both)!
Chaunies Coffee
Check out their schedule here!
Who isn’t a sucker for a coffee cart or truck? Often seen at festivals and Ponte Vedra Beach, there unique and specialty coffee drinks are worth searching where they’ll be next. If you are over caffeinated for the day, grab a Chai tea latte, their chai is made in house!
The Dive Cart
Follow this coffee cart on their instagram to see where they will be next. Their owners know their coffee, and they are perfect for events, as well.
Jacksonville’s coffee scene was a pleasant surprise and I hope you feel the same if you are visiting the Bold City!
Follow me on instagram for more Jax coffee adventures!
Love always,
Katherine
