Riverside is an area that could be a date location for any time of the day. Although I am sure morning and afternoon will be covered along the way of my jax date series, starting your ladies or date night in this trendy neighborhood is ideal (especially in the heat of the summer). Five Points is an area that is always full of energy and you always have a place to go (into the wee hours of the night). Rooftop hangs, quirky bars and antique shops fill Park Street and is always bustling with people enjoying a movie or happy hour.

There are so many date ideas in this small area of Riverside, but this “datitineary” is perfect for the summer and warm nights.

If you enjoy shared plates, drinks with a view and a night of whimsical gardens and art – this date (solo or not) is for you.

Share small plates & drinks at Hawkers Asian Street Fare

Hawkers has more than one location in Florida (two in Jacksonville) and their food is the perfect place to split the plethora of menu options they provide. If you are there Monday-Friday, they have a great happy hour deal on their small plates as well. Hawkers is located in the heart of Five Points, and has everything from Roti Canai, to Pad Thai and amazing Korean Twice Fried Wings.

Rooftop drinks at River & Post

The rooftop Lounge at River & Post has a beautiful view of the river as well as the Jacksonville skyline. An elevated vibe to enjoy cocktails and more food and is the perfect stop on a night out or to enjoy Happy Hour from above.

Spend the evening at the Cummer Museum.

Every Friday until September 6th, the Cummer Museum is free! “Each Friday will feature free entertainment, such as live music, art activities, lawn games, lounge areas and more.” Walk around the gardens that lead up the St. Johns River and stroll through the wonderfully curated art exhibits. For more information on what to expect or each weekend this summer, check out the “Summer at Cummer” page.

Summer isn’t over, and this night out is perfect for warm evenings before the Fall months appear faster than we know it.
