Whenever I visit a new city, finding a great coffee spot is a must. Providence was my home for 2 years it has been so great to enjoy my old spots and find new ones. When heading to Rhode Island’s capital, make sure to mark one of these Providence coffee shops on your maps.

The growing city is no longer a little fish in a big pond. Therefore they deserve a spotlight in the coffee scene as much as any other city. Providence coffee shops are slowly growing and residents and tourists a like are taking note. After all, Providence was included in Travel & Leisure’s best coffee cities back in 2014. Seeing as we created the magical coffee milk, I think they were right.

Providence Coffee Shops

Bolt Coffee

You can enjoy coffee settled into the Dean Hotel or while getting work done in the RISD museum. They even have a roastery in the city you can go to by appointment. Bolt believes in coffee with community. “Good coffee is best enjoyed with friends.” I don’t want to play any favorites, but if you only have time to visit one, make it Bolt.

The Shop at Foxpoint

Cozy, healthy ingredients and great light breakfast options. I have come to love this place! There milk substitute is “oat milk” because of how it tastes alongside the coffee beans if you are tired of the same old Almond substitute.

Dave’s Coffee

Yoleni’s Providence

Seven Stars Bakery

No wifi, but plenty of space, sunlight and delicious baked goods. I got introduced to a London Fog (am I behind the times)? and it was the perfect alternative to coffee that day. Coffee may not be the reason you go, after all it is filled with a plethora of gluten goodies. Visit there east side, west side or east providence location to taste them for yourself.

Coffee Exchange

Before the other Providence Coffee shops, was the Coffee Exchange. They have been in the city for quite awhile and is also the perfect place to drink multiple cups of coffee and get things done. Plenty of space to work and be productive.

White Electric Coffee

White Electric coffee has made the west side of Providence their home for 16 years. An edgy, unique interior complete with baristas serving up a blend of New Harvest Coffee Roasters.

Ellie’s

Parisian interior, and “breakfast to dinner, coffee to cocktails.”

The Nitro Bar

Google Maps Location

As the name suggests, here is where you go when you want epic Nitro cold brew. Before the Nitro bar, was the Nitro cart and you can find many of them scattered throughout Rhode Island. In order to give the people what they want, they opened a permanent location for the Nitro Cart, known as the Nitro Bar (with another location in Newport). Your tired body will thank you, and so will your Instagram feed.
