I traded a week of coffee shop exploring in Tokyo for a week of tasting the best of Taipei coffee shops. From large, beautifully crafted spaces, to small easy to miss cafes, Taipei’s coffee scene has taken off (specialty coffee shops are taking over the world it seems in the best way). Like in Tokyo, you can see the baristas take pride in their brewing, roasting and pouring. Of course it’s hard in such a small amount of time to see all a city has to offer in terms of coffee shops, but I tried to reach a few solid ones. Like Tokyo, Taipei coffee shops seem to be growing and growing, but who can complain? While traveling Taipei I needed all the (iced) coffee I could get – humidity zaps your energy.
Single origin, powerful espressos and some of the most unique lattes I have ever seen on a menu all reside in Taipei coffee shops and here a few to check out on your trip.

May 26, 2018 at 3:40 pmI loved your article on Japan’s coffee shops. This one is great too, because your fotos give the mood of each place. Would love to explore the coffeeshops throughout Asia. I forget how techie some cities are, which means loads and loads of the perfect cafes.
