The time of year where I get to pack for cold weather! I stand in my closet often getting overwhelmed with the desire to pack up all my sweaters and warm accessories. Like many, I am often an over packer, and I become vastly disappointed when I go about my trip realizing I didn’t pack the right things.
Although it was more time consuming, I tried to focus on things I needed to buy for this trip to complete outfits, try on a few options to make sure I was packing correctly, and really look at my schedule for where I would need certain clothes for.
This trip will consist of lounging at home sprinkled with a fancy anniversary dinner, holiday festivities and a family party. I need a few nicer options, holiday pajamas, and casual outfits for anything else that comes up. I love reading a good packing list, so figured I would take the time to create my own for the chilly (and merry) season.
I used this as my checklist to get trip-ready and it made packing my clothes a breeze! After the hard work of making the collage and trying things on, of course. I omitted some items like Christmas jammies, a few clothes I left from my last trip and two T-shirts. The Chelsea Boots I had shipped here which was convenient.
What I am packing:
Coats: Brown Coat (sized down) | Grey Coatigan
Sweaters:
Green Sweater | Blue mock neck sweatshirt (similar) | Black Sweater Dress
Tops: Sequin Top | Glitter turtleneck | Grey turtleneck (similar) | Long sleeve tee | Grey Sweatyshirt (Matching Set) | Striped tee
Bottoms: Distressed Jeans (Old Navy sky hi straight jeans) | Straight Jeans (similar) | Black Jeans | White Trousers |Silk Flared Skirt | Grey Sweatpants (Matching Set) |Black Leggings (similar)
Shoes: Chelsea Boots | Light Beige Heeled Boots | Black Heeled Boots
Accessory Edit
Earrings: Gold Huggies | Small Hoops | Medium Hoops
Necklaces: Gold necklaces (similar)
I bought a few other pieces that were gifts from my husband, but overall kept it quite simple!
Travel Outfit
Sneakers and a matching set make for a great travel day outfit. I was in search of a zip up hoodie for nursing and found this duo.
Things to consider
Weather: It will be pretty cold (and feel extremely freezing compared to Florida). So making sure all my outfits kept me warm with an additional jacket/hat is key. I am hoping for snow, so fingers crossed.
Events: The last few months of post-partum have consisted of elastic bands and nursing bras (those are still staying) so I am looking forward to putting real outfits together, and layering. I made sure the “fancier” items can be mix and matched depending if I need to go more casual.
The Dressier Outfits
Highlights:
This silk skirt is a dream, and fits so well (TTS). The bright green sweater and sequin top will be it’s counterparts.
Glitter turtleneck – Have I embarrassed myself enough on instagram wearing this? I love that it can be paired with black jeans or a skirt.
Accessories – Except for the green sweater, most of my outfits are black or neutral – goes with everything and makes packing easier with more flexibility. This lip souffle from Rare Beauty, Gold Hoops and braided velvet headband will spruce the outfits up a bit.
The Casual Outfits
Highlights:
Many options for everyday outfits! Florida has left me lacking with new coats so my new grey coatigan and brown jacket will be great investments.
Along with outerwear, I realized there were some boots I needed. These Chelsea boots are a perfect mix of stylish and practical incase I encounter any snow.
